15May22 Middlesex Bonsai Society Annual Show
Woodford Hall, Poplars Close, Ruislip, Middlesex.HA4 7BU.
This years show, the first for three years due to the pandemic shutdown, the club approached with some hesitation. Our club meeting attendances have not completely recovered to pre-covid numbers and the thought of putting on a big club show seemed a little daunting under these circumstances, but the chairman Chris McEvoy managed to motivate enough members to make everything possible.
The display of trees was a real mix high-lighting beginners work through to more exquisite specimens brought about by years of dedication previously seen at shows like Swindon and Expo. The show opened at 1030 with a steady stream of visitors through the day, unfortunately the weather was a little inclement through the day which led to fewer visitors than usual. There were no traders at this show, but bargains could be had with members unwanted trees and pots on sale to the public through the day. As usual visitors were asked to vote for their favourite three trees,
1st Place - Tree No38 Previt owned by Mark Moreland
2nd Place - Tree No 19 Yew owned by Mark Moreland
3rd Place - Tree No 24 Maple owned by Bob Savage & Tree No 7 Chinese Elm Group owned by Brian Wallin
