Blackmore Vale Bonsai Group Show
Charlton Remembrance Hall, Charlton, Shaftsbury, Dorset. SP7 0PL.
We set up the show on Saturday evening. Sunday morning bright and early we arrived to put the displays up. It was very windy, but dry and stayed dry ll day fortunately for us. We had four displays by local societies, Warminster, Taunton, Staverton and us. We had three traders, Chris Thomas, Collette's Bonsai and Oakfield Bonsai. During the day demonstrations by Trevor Banbury and also Tony and Nathan Oswin and Robin worked on some trees. This was well received, with a lot of visitors watching. The Best Society display went to Warminster, judged by Chris Thomas. There was a public vote for the best in show, it was close with Ade Taylor's Japanese White Beech the winner. He also won the best BVBG member's tree. The Novice award is the new one and was won by Mike Bryan. We had an excellent day, with a good steady stream of visitors for the first three hours or so.
