Manchester Bonsai Society Show
At The Lymm Arts Festival
Lymm United Reformed Church, David Way, Off Brookside Road, Lymm, Cheshire. WA13 0WQ.
What a day!
Despite indifferent weather, our display attracted a record number of visitors, some of whom are renowned bonsai artists. All were most complimentary about our show and the friendly welcome from members, as were the organisers of the Lymm Arts Festival. Take a look at our facebook page.
This year’s Ted Fuller Cup for the most popular tree in show – voted for by the visiting public- went to Mark Kennerley and his superb Japanese white pine. See the pictures below of the winner and runners up.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and perseverance of all our members who set up the show and helped break it down and return the church to a normal state for Sunday Services.
In time honoured fashion, everyone had a fine time with trees, the public and the cafe’s bacon sandwiches.
As is our practice we showed a range of trees from across the membership from those relatively new to the hobby to those with many years of experience.
The demonstration tables attracted much attention and we are hopeful that we have generated a number of new “converts”.
Scott Winnard visited from the South Yorkshire Bonsai Society and videoed the whole show for his “Let’s Do Bonsai” Youtube channel.
