At Hyper Japan Festival
Olympia London. Hammersmith Road, Hammersmith, London. W14 8UX.
The Hyper Japan Festival has been staged at various London locations over the years, but seems to have found a permanent home now once a year at the Olympia Exhibition Centre. For those of you who have never been to this event, it's an annual event promoting all elements of Japanese culture to the people of the UK and this includes everything for all ages. Youngsters attending the event can immerse themselves into the modern world of computer gaming or the culture of Manga, the older generation can find plenty to do also, with staged entertainment going on over the three days. This event is the ideal opportunity to introduce the younger generation to the art of bonsai, with approximately 60,000 visitors eager to soak up everything Japanese, as you can imagine the team of volunteers manning the display were kept very busy engaging with the public. A big thank you must go out to the people who put their trees forward for displaying and the volunteers who helped man the display and a special thank you to Russell Wheeler and Tim Back who put everything together on behalf of the UKBA, thank you.
