25Jul21 Staverton Bonsai Group Bonsai Boot Sale
Staverton Bonsai Group is a very new group of enthusiasts coming together in very recent times in 2016, they are a private group which meets on the last Sunday of every month, membership to this group is by invitation only.
This event had a temporary change of address this year, moving to a new location just up the road. The new location was perfectly suited for a car boot sale, very spacious with plenty of parking and even though all grass, very firm under foot. After a week of blazing sunshine, the weather forecast was for wind and rain through the weekend, as you can imagine not ideal for a car boot sale.
The showers were frequent and heavy on the Saturday, but luckily for the Staverton team, Sunday was not quite so bad, only the occasional light drizzle. Even with the prospect of rain keeping some people at home, the attendance at this event was fantastic, with traders setting up early and the arrival of visitors dead on time looking for bargains. Bargains there were, with approximately 50 traders from all over the south and some from further a field, business was brisk with some selling out of stock mid morning.
The event which is held the last Sunday of July every month, had an extra energy to it this year, due to the social restrictions of the last two years, the bonsai community seemed energized in getting back together again, the event had a great buzz and vibe to it.
Put it in your diary for next year 24Jul22 and the last Sunday every July thereafter.
